I know how to crochet- it’s just that my edges are not always straight- then I pull it out and start over just to end up the same way as I started. I would like more information about Boleros and Shrugs. I really appreciate the video and crocheting does help me relax. it’s soothing for what is ailing you.

I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. Keeping your edges straight can truly be frustrating! That’s something I will address in the Intermediate Crochet course. Meanwhile, the trick is your turning chains, and counting your stitches every row, along with keeping an even tension.
I crochet already but would love to learn how to crochet dolls/animals and slippers.
Crocheted gloves without fingers and they turned out really cute.
I also have problems reading patrons.
Thanks
Congrats on knowing how to crochet! It looks like you are ready for an intermediate level crochet course – coming soon! In the Beginning Crochet course you will learn how to read written patterns, stitch diagrams and color graph charts, so it may be a good idea to go through the Beginning Crochet course first.
Learning something new keep your mind and your hands active! Always a good thing! Join us at Beginning Crochet and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
I love to crochet. I started with Afghans and scarves. Now I make hats, dolls, pillows ,bags, ponchos, shawls and I even made a dress for my granddaughter. I have totally surprised myself.
I’ve tried and tried and so desperately want to learn but I just can’t seem to get the hang of it. So anytime I can find someone willing to show me , I’m all ears! Lol
You are in for a treat then! I think the Beginning Crochet Course is exactly what you need to learn to crochet. It moves slowly and at your own pace so you can truly learn to crochet each stitch, with lots of practice time in the course.
Yes, the class begins with how to pick out yarn and crochet hooks, how to hold your yarn, how to chain, and then each modules teaches how work all the different types of basic crochet stitches. I would say even a 7-8 yr old that wants to learn could go through the course.
I have recently taken up crocheting after losing my job. I learned by watching tutorials on you tube now for the most part I can read a pattern and go from there but still very much a beginner. Made my grandson a blanket for his bed he loves it, he is 3. Made my mother a afagan for mother’s day this year, many hats a couple of scarves. Would like to learn more, it is very relaxing.
I love to crochet different projects and to feel very proud of myself. It’s a very nice pass time when I feel lonely. It’s wonderful to see my finished projects & people’s projects with different colours.
Hello Angela, Crocheting for me is an art, a nice accomplishment of a project. Crocheting helps me to build my self esteem and to feel proud of my self knowing that yes! I can do a project that ends up beautifully by hand.
I’ve just been finished up at work due to ill health, crochet is something I’ve always wanted to do, now at the age of 61 I’m going to try and give it a go, looking forward to seeing the videos. X
I love to crochet! I’ve never worked with a yarn however…I learned to crochet doilies and such with the fine cottons, now I’m working on Christmas tree ornaments. I would love to learn to make blankets and clothing.
Yesterday I picked up a crochet hook for the first time in about 40 years and made myself a dish cloth in about 3-4 hours. I’m so proud of myself and realized how much I had missed crocheting! I probably need a refresher course to get my skills back up to speed. Looking forward to getting back into it.
Tina – welcome back to crocheting! It’s like riding a bike – with a little instruction you are off and rolling! The beginning course may be a good refresher. Then the advance course will teach you the fun fancier stitches. Email if you have any questions – anglea@masteringcrochet.com
Every reason you gave for crocheting is exactly what I’ve expereiced. I learn to crochet when I was 20 yo, and now 75 yo, and Lord willing I’ll be crocheting to 90+. I wish I could convince my ladies here at the senior center to learn or return to crocheting, but they don’t get it. Thanks so much for your work Angela.
My mother taught me to crochet when I was about eight, so I’m not learning, but I do want to advance my skills.
I’m interested in dog coats at this time.
I want to learn to crochet to help me relax.
